Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch ?! Kids Eat Free at Pizza Hut until Jan 9th 2011

I hate it when parents complain about the credit crunch and say that they can't afford to go out and have fun with the kids. We have three kids of our own so I know that the cost can soon mount up when you're planning a day out at an expensive theme park or tourist attraction, especially once you add in lunch, ice creams and souvenirs. But all you need is a bit of imagination and you can have a fantastic family day out for literally pennies.

Some of our best days out this summer were total freebies. We spent a day being complete tourists in Brighton, strolling along the prom, going for a wander on the pier, getting lost in The Lanes and discovering the eclectic mix of shops around North Laine, walking around the grounds of the Brighton Pavillion (or The Onion House as the kids dubbed it !), eating fish and chips on the beach then finishing off with a walk on windswept Beachy Head to see the stunning views of the South Downs and the sea. Another day, we packed up a picnic, skipping ropes, a football, a frisbee, some stale bread for the ducks and a big list of things to look for on a nature trail and we went to a big park for the whole day. The kids still wanted to stay longer when it was time to come home ! On rainy days, we put the picnic rug out on the floor in the lounge and have an indoor picnic !

If you're nodding your head in agreement, you must be the kind of person that loves a bargain so you'll be really pleased to know that you can add going out for pizza for the "free things to do with the kids" list ! Pizza Hut have extended their Kids Eat Free promotion that was running over the summer. Over 900,000 happy kids have taken advantage of the offer already but it is now available until January 9th 2011.

.Basically, for every adult main course or adult lunchtime buffet purchased, an accompanying child aged under 12 can choose from either a FREE 2 course kids meal (including a drink) or a FREE kids lunchtime buffet (includes pizza, pasta and salad). For those of you who like to check out the small print, you can find more details about the offer at http://bit.ly/a1DhgJ.

And there's more ! On the bottom of any Pizza Hut Restaurant receipt you will find an offer code, which you can enter at http://www.pizzahut.co.uk/familyadventures to get great deals on a wide range of family activities and adventures including holidays, theme parks, zoos and more.

It's not quite a freebie because the adults have to pay but it's still a good deal, especially as it gets me a night off cooking duty which is definitely a good thing !
