****Don't miss my giveaway right here where you can win one of three bottles of this lovely organic baby massage oil ***
A few weeks ago, I hosted a giveaway for a bottle of Wildfire aphrodisiac massage oil. If you've come here looking for that, you're in totally the wrong place - this is for BABY massage ! (The Wildfire blogpost is here but you're too late, the giveaway has finished ! There will be a giveaway for this lovely Tiddley Pom massage oil straight after this review though so keep your eyes open.)
If you're a regular follower of my blog, you'll know all about Tiddley Pom and their lovely products because I reviewed their gorgeous Organic Nappy Balm (here) last year. On their Facebook page, Tiddley Pom describe themselves as "the first holistic baby spa range which enhances bonding between mother and baby, focussing on the three primary infant senses of sound, smell and touch."
Baby massage is a wonderful calming activity for mum and baby that offers a great chance for some special bonding and a lovely way to wind down into sleep mode. But Tiddley Pom also think that it offers so much more. I posted a recent blogpost (here) in which they suggest that it can help cure coughs and colds so if your little one is congested, it's definitely worth giving it a go. That blogpost also give you some great tips for how to get the most out of baby massage to so it's a great place to start.
But on to the product itself. It comes in a very handy spray bottle, which is very convenient when you need to keep hold of a wriggly baby, especially with slippery hands. (I highly recommend using a soft bath towel on the floor for a safe place for baby massage, rather than a changing table.) The oil is light and nowhere near as greasy as I was expecting so it is absorbed into the skin without leaving too much oily residue after the massage.
It contains kukui, coconut, blackcurrant and argan oils so I was expecting a lovely coconutty, fruity scent but it is actually fragrance-free. I thought this was a shame but it's obviously more hypoallergenic and safer for baby's delicate skin. As well as offering a lovely relaxing massage (for baby or mummy and daddy !), the oil is really good for your skin. The website explains : "This blend of natural vegetable carrier oils imparts a host of naturally derived vitamins including gamma linoleic acid, omega 6 and other fatty acids essential for healthy skin."
Turn down the lights, put on some lovely calming music and help baby drift off to beddy-byes ... but don't be surprised if daddy asks for more of the same !
