Asda offer free sports and activity sessions across the UK

I just had to share this fab campaign from Asda with you for two reasons. Firstly, it's great to get the kids out there discovering new activities and getting energetic into the bargain, especially as Easter is on the way and they'll be scoffing their way through mountains of chocolate! But secondly, it's also absolutely free, so don't miss out ! Read on for more details ...

Children urged to balance out the eggs by using their legs this Easter!

Asda is helping children to make the most of the longer days during the Easter holidays, by offering free sports and activity sessions across the UK.

Families need to simply pop into their nearest Asda and pick up a voucher, which will allow their children to go along to a local session for free.

Fiona Campbell-Reilly, Asda head of community, said: “"Easter holidays are upon us and evenings are getting lighter, so it's a great time for children to get involved with a local sporting activity. We all love a good Easter egg, however it's important to balance this out by encouraging children to keep active and healthy and take advantage of the Sporting Chance free sessions."

The scheme is in its fourth year now and has proven very successful at making sport affordable and accessible to families, with over 89,000 families across the UK taking advantage of free sessions in 2010.

Thanks to Asda Sporting Chance and local sports providers, families across the UK have access to over 100,000 free sports and activity sessions throughout the upcoming Easter holiday. Each session is completely free and is designed to help parents keep children both entertained and active during the holidays.

  2. Sounds like a very worthwhile idea - am always curious what the uptake of projects like these are though.

  3. Great post, the great thing about this that even in our backwater of Norfolk, there are loads of activities listed when I did a search. At last something that is not big city centric.
