I think it was definitely too runny - I'm guessing US soup is more condensed than the British stuff ?Cheryl Pasquierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17616020125806847507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3003888645468433795.post-3765204752275126952016-01-24T17:11:53.809+00:002016-01-24T17:11:53.809+00:00I'd call it a work in progress - the kids like...I'd call it a work in progress - the kids liked it though !Cheryl Pasquierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17616020125806847507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3003888645468433795.post-56474424602225473262016-01-24T15:34:06.872+00:002016-01-24T15:34:06.872+00:00We always had green bean casserole in the States b...We always had green bean casserole in the States but when I've tried to make it in the UK, it has never come out the same. I think the soy sauce adds a bit of savoury flavour and colour. I've always found I have to add a lot less milk otherwise it is too runny. defairmanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15335778023410648363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3003888645468433795.post-12385992988348622432016-01-24T10:59:39.164+00:002016-01-24T10:59:39.164+00:00I often come across this dish mentioned in the Ame...I often come across this dish mentioned in the American novels, but have never tried it. You are right about the soy sauce, it wouldn't add anything, and I doubt it the American pioneers who invented this dish would have had access to the soy sauce.
