There is absolutely no denying that Christmas is on the way. What sealed it for the Madhouse kids was having Father Christmas waving at them from the back of a lorry as he headed off to join in the Lord Mayor's Parade in London last week !
Helping to take the festive excitement up another notch, a 27 minute Q Pootle 5 Christmas special is being released on DVD and digital platforms on Monday 17th November, courtesy of Proper Distribution.
In this exclusive, never before seen episode, it’s Christmas time on Okidoki and all is calm as Q Pootle 5 and his friends prepare for the happiest time of the year. All is bright too, with the new festive lights festooned across the shack, ready for Groobie’s pantomime. But, when a mayday call interrupts the rehearsal, the friends suddenly find themselves in an epic adventure in which the very future of Christmas is at stake!
Q Pootle 5 is based on the best-selling books by the hugely popular children’s author and illustrator Nick Butterworth and the series features an outstanding voice cast including: Ed Gaughan (Bunnytown, Black Mirror); Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey, Poppy Cat); Steven Kynman(Thomas & Friends, Fireman Sam); Richard Ridings (Peppa Pig); and Ella Kenion (Cuckoo, The Hive, Swashbuckle).
We received a preview copy and the Madhouse kids loved it - it's great for watching in the run up to the big day and, as it's only half an hour long, even younger viewers will manage to sit through the whole thing without wandering off ! (There's an extra 37 minute documentary about the making of too, although the Madhouse kids got bored with this.) They loved the ‘Okidoki Karaoke’ bonus content and the enclosed poster though.
In addition to the DVD release, Q Pootle 5 puzzles and games – including a 35 piece puzzle, 4-in-1 shaped puzzle and giant playing cards – from Jumbo are available now. Two brand new picture books from Walker Books and a special Q Pootle 5 magazine from Egmont Publishing, will arrive in-stores this November. They sound like the perfect stocking fillers for any Q Pootle 5 fan.
