Mile High Aviation Juice Drink

********** Mile High Aviation Juice has had a name change and a funky new look  - please see my new review of AOk here ! Same drink, new image ! *************

If you happen to be in the early months of pregnancy this Christmas and New Year and don't want to announce it to the world just yet, fill your wine glass with Mile High - it looks just like red wine so nobody will be any the wiser ! Plus it's packed full of goodness too. Sneaky !!

Or just put the bottle of Mile High on the table and everyone will fall on the floor laughing, making smutty comments about the Mile High Club and forget to ask you why you're not drinking anyway !

So why IS it called Mile High ? Because it's "an aviation juice drink designed for use by anyone who takes a flight, especially long haul" which helps in "dealing with the effects of jet lag and other adverse symptoms of regular air travel". The website explains that "Mile High contains ingredients that have proven to be of benefit to : the digestive system, circulation, the immune system, travel sickness and nausea". It is also packed with antioxydants, which are beneficial to everyone, even if you're not a pilot, air hostess or regular traveller.

It was recently a finalist in the category ‘Best New Functional Drink’ in the Beverage Innovation Awards, despite being up against 340 entries from 40 countries, so they must be doing something right.

I can't comment on its anti-jetlag properties, as my feet have stayed firmly on the ground since the summer of 2008, but I can tell you that it tastes really nice. It's a mixture of red grape and cherry juice, but is not as sharp and acidic as most grape juices I've tasted in the past. Other ingredients include ginger and aloe vera but it's free from any hidden nasties - no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, added sugar, artificial sweeteners or concentrates. As it's a 100% natural blend of pressed juices, it's perfectly safe to drink it throughout pregnancy (the ginger might even help with morning sickness) or while breastfeeding, so it's great for me at the moment.

It's unusual to find something so good for you that tastes really good so make the most of it !
