Radox Wellbeing Spa Gift Set

Be Selfish ! Such is the advice (and good advice from time to time, I have to say !) - and indeed the name of the website - from bath and bodycare experts Radox. The brandname Radox always makes me smile because it always reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad would head off to the bathroom with a box of Radox bathsalts for a nice soak to soothe his aching muscles when he'd overdone digging the garden !

The new Radox giftsets look much more upmarket though and wouldn't look out of place in a posh spa, which is exactly how they are being marketed. "Bring the Radox spa experience into your home with this gorgeous set", proudly proclaims the label. The packaging is very understated and chic, with transparent plastic bottles showing the pale beige and pinkish products inside, and labels showing zen feng-shui type pebble and water arrangements !

The Wellbeing Spa gift set comes in a reuseable zip-up bag in the same muted beige and pink colour scheme, in natural-looking fabric with a handy mesh-panel that allows you to see at a glance what is inside (handy for when you recycle the bag for stashing away hair bits and bobs or makeup, for example). It contains two products (more about those in a moment) and a soft pink-trimmed eye mask to help you get your beauty sleep.

The first product is the Wellbeing Spa Care shower gel. On the website, they say : "A warm shower with our Spa Care shower gel will wash away all your worries. The delicate blend of seaweed, sea minerals and skin conditioners hydrates and nourishes your skin, leaving it feeling silky-soft and smooth. And because it’s hypoallergenic, it’s perfect for sensitive skin, too." I'm intrigued by all the bubbles suspended in the transparent gel which make me feeling like I'm having a very decadent champagne fizz shower ! The ingredients list does contain a couple of things (notably SLS) that will have natural beauty lovers running for the hills but they do also contain natural ingredients. There is even a logo on the bottle proudly stating that they have been blending natural herbs since 1908. In my opinion, if a company has survived for over a century, it must be good ! The shower gel does leave you with lovely soft skin but above all has an absolutely gorgeous, relaxing perfume which lingers on the skin after you've dried off.

The second product is the Wellbeing Spa Scrub. Radox say : "Our Spa Scrub will put the sparkle back in your skin. The blend of sea minerals and finely ground apricot seeds gently exfoliates, leaving your skin feeling smooth and radiant. You’ll feel invigorated and ready to face the world again." You can actually see the grains of ground apricot seeds suspended in the scrub and the slighly gritty texture efficiently exfoliates without irritating the skin. It's quite runny and washes away easily leaving no greasy or sticky residue, so you don't need to use shower gel afterwards to feel clean. I love using it once a week, especially on my arms and legs, to get rid of dull, flaky, winter skin.

It's a lovely pampering treat to offer yourself for an evening of well-deserved me-time but is also the ideal gift for a Secret Santa or as a spare present to keep tucked away in case somebody, such as a work colleague or neighbour, springs an unexpected gift on you at the last minute and you need something to give them back ! They look amazingly chic for the bargain price too so if you're Christmas shopping on a tight budget, they're absolutely perfect.
