Tuiss blinds

If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I love switching over to eco-friendly options or making changes to my lifestyle that help the planet - but that they also need to require minimum effort and be as effective as the less green alternatives. Some of the products and ideas that I've come across while blogging are things I never would have thought of by myself but that are obvious when you think about them.

Well, that's what happened when I was asked to blog about Tuiss blinds. I'm going to be totally transparent here (as always) and tell you that this is a sponsored post, but that doesn't change the opinions I'm going to express in the slightest. My initial thought when I was asked to blog about blinds was hmmm, that's not very inspiring, how am I going to make that into an interesting blogpost ?!

Then I went to investigate the Tuiss website and was actually very impressed at the range of designs on offer. Firstly, I didn't realise just how many different types of blinds there are - Roman Blinds, Wooden Blinds, Roller Blinds, Venetian Blinds, Vertical Blinds, Fusion Blinds, Blackout Blinds, Energy Saving Blinds. Three Blind Mice. Oh no, scrap that last one !

Secondly, even if you take just one type of blind - let's say roller blinds - there are a huge selection of colours and patterns available. You can find something to suit every taste, from plain white to funky patterns and every colour of the rainbow. Just a few designs that leapt out at me are these ones :

But the main thing that caught my attention (apart from the gorgeous hot air balloon design that I would love in my kitchen or bathroom, even though it's probably designed for a kid's bedroom !) was the label "energy saving blinds". I'd never thought about blinds working as added insulation but as they explain on the website, "NRG roller blinds will reduce heat loss as well as your heating bill and carbon footprint. With such a wide range of colours and textures there’s no need to compromise on style." The prices start at £31.12 which I'm sure you'd recoup on your heating bills in no time at all.

This is my kind of being green ! You get to choose a gorgeous blind for your room which makes it look really stylish, lowers your heating bill and is kind to the planet. Sounds like a win-win-win situation to me !

  1. Those sound great! I've missed the boat for this year, but will definitely look at these before next winter to help retain some heat!

  8. Nice blinds, but a nightmare to put up. I have 2 roman blinds, the first one clicked into place with one of the brackets, then the bobble fell off so the blind started to unravel and I could not click the other bracket into place. I could not face putting up the other blind, so waited until I could get my more DIY-savvy brother-in-law to help me, and he also could not click the blinds into place. He has recommended that I get a baton, fix the blind onto that and then fix the baton to the window frame. So I'm currently unable to recommend Tuiss, despite their excellent website, range, prices and delivery - their fixtures are very difficult to put up.

  9. The Roman blinds are cheap, thin, overpriced rubbish. Customer service is terrible, tried to sell me more blinds.
