Whitworth's Sunny Raisins

Just look at their faces when they discovered the little boxes of Sunny Raisins that the lovely people at Whitworth's sent us to try out ! I gave the girls the choice of snacks out of a tin containing biscuits, cereal bars and cake slices and both Sophie and Juliette opted for the raisins !

And even 19-month-old Pierre got in on the taste-testing and ate a whole box full all by himself !  (Madhouse Daddy Mike didn't know this and wondered what on earth was in his nappy the next day !)

I'm not sure what appeals to the girls the most - the packaging or the taste. The little boxes, which come in two sizes so they're great for all ages, are absolutely perfect for popping in a lunchbox and they're appealing with their bright colours and cheerful raisin cartoon character. But the taste is obviously the most important thing.

Whitworths say : "Sunny Raisins are plump, juicy, sun-dried raisins full of the good stuff you need to get out and do the things you love. We've also made sure they're free of colourings, flavourings and e-numbers." Importantly, they're also free of the rock-hard shrivelled up raisins that you sometimes find in the bottom of the bags of cheaper raisins ! They're lovely and juicy and sweet, right down to the bottom of the box.

The big 42.5g boxes (as modelled by Sophie and Juliette) contain 123 calories and the little 14g box that Pierre ate provides 41 calories. That also means they make great snacks for anyone trying to watch their weight with a sweet tooth, especially as they count towards your 5-a-day. If you're feeling really decadent, you can also buy yogurt-coated Sunny Raisins. Judging by how well the normal Sunny Raisins went down with the kids, I'll definitely have to look out for these in the shops next time we go shopping !

star rating : 5/5

RRP : £1.89 for 14x14g, £1.69 for 6 x 42.5g

  1. Just discovered Getcone.io logo proposal template
, and it’s a game-changer! Having a structured template keeps my proposals clear and visually appealing, which has made a big impact on client approvals. Definitely worth a look!
