Celebrate this year’s IKEA Soft Toy Campaign and join in the fun as the teddies take over IKEA

IKEA are launching in-store kid's activities across all UK stores, including teddy bear picnics and children's story time sessions for kid's to enjoy.

Celebrate this year’s IKEA Soft Toy Campaign and join in the fun as the teddies take over IKEA





If you go down to your local IKEA store, on Wednesday 26th October, you’re sure of a big surprise! To celebrate the launch of this year’s Soft Toy Campaign, where every soft toy, children’s book and kids meal purchased between October 24th and December 23rd generates a donation of €1 to UNICEF and Save the Children to support Children’s education programmes throughout the world, IKEA invites you and your little ones to take part in an afternoon of teddy bear themed fun and adventure.

The IKEA teddy bear take over day will take place across IKEA stores throughout the UK and will include an array of exciting activities from story telling sessions using this year’s range of IKEA kids’ books, told by BJÖRN the Bear’s special friends, to delicious teddy bear’s picnics.


The fun does not stop there as an exciting bear hunt will also take place across selected stores, where you have the chance to take home a FREE BJÖRN the Bear of your very own!


What better way to spend your half term holidays than getting involved in this year’s IKEA Soft Toy campaign, where you can make a personal contribution to help more children go to school. And don’t forget, anyone who buys a soft toy, children’s’ book, or kids meal from a between October 24th and December 23rd, generates a donation of €1 to UNICEF and Save the Children. This donation helps to improve lives of millions of children in over 45 countries, enabling them to access a quality education.

What: A flavour of activities taking place in IKEA stores across the UK include a storytelling session hosted by IKEA and special friends, a teddy bear’s picnic and a teddy bear hunt (check with your local store to see which activities are taking place. See sign up details below)

Where: The events will take place in IKEA stores across the UK during the half-term holidays on Wednesday 26th October

Please note, spaces are limited.


Cost: The IKEA Teddy Bear Takeover is open to the general public however those taking part in the teddy bear’s picnic will be required to pay;

- £2.95 for a child’s teddy bear picnic box meal (IKEA FAMILY price £2.25), where €1 will go to UNICEF and Save the Children

- £4.25 for an IKEA Adult’s picnic meal (IKEA FAMILY price £3.50) where €1 will go to UNICEF and Save the Children


- Since 2003, the partnership between IKEA, UNICEF and Save the Children through the Soft Toy Campaign has raised over €35.2 million globally.



The donation of €1 will begiven for EVERY soft toy bought, irrespective of the purchase price or how many are bought in one transaction. E.g. For a customer purchasing 6 soft toys at 39p - IKEA will donate €6.

  1. This sounds fab. We need to go to Ikea (we always need to go to Ikea, I can get home from Ikea and within half an hour think of something I need from there!) so we might have to make a trip next Wednesday.
