Nakd Crazy Cola & Tangy Lime Flavour Infused Raisins review

The Nakd website says : "Raisins that taste like sweeties." "Wonderfully weird and strangely addictive." "It's what Willy Wonka would have made if he were a raw foodie raisin farmer." If I hadn't already tried them in the past, I'd have thought everyone at Nakd had gone mad or at least got a bit overexcited in the marketing department, but I have to say, these really are nothing like any other raisins you'll ever have tasted.

In the past, we've reviewed (here) their pineapple, lemon, orange and cherry infused raisins, and we totally agreed with their label of "wildly different". This time, they sent us through their new Crazy Cola and Tangy Lime flavours and they were both greeted with as much enthusiasm as the original flavours.

The packet promises that it contains nothing artificial and no added sugars and the ingredients list is amazingly short : sun-dried raisins, citric acid, natural flavouring, that's it ! One 25g pack contains a very reasonable 68 calories and they count as one of your five a day.

The kids love the silly jokes on the packets and the little nuggets of humour where you'd least expect them, such as "best before (your mates nick 'em)" ! They are "gleefully made in Britain" - and gleefully noshed here at The Madhouse.

They're lunchbox friendly, ideal as healthy snacks and great for confusing your guests if you add them to cakes or bread because they won't be able to get their head round their tastebuds telling them they're eating all manner of weird and wacky flavours while their eyes are saying they should be tasting raisins !

star rating : 5/5

  3. What a funny idea. I expect raisins to taste like raisins. But if you say they're good - then that's good enough for me to give them a try.
