Baby Sing Christmas CD review

It's the first weekend in December which means it's the day we traditionally put up the Christmas tree and all the decorations, while listening to a CD of Christmas songs. This year, our backing track was a new CD that we'd just received to review called Baby Sing Christmas.

Designed for babies - but also great for older kids if you don't want them to go hyper or as a calm musical backdrop for grown-up festive gatherings - the CD offers eighteen Christmassy tracks combining just vocals with a guitar. The words are clearly pronounced so it's a great CD to listen to if you're trying to teach young children the words.

The track listing contains many fun and traditional tunes that older kids will probably know and younger children will love to learn. The full line-up is : Let it snow – It’s the most wonderful time of the year – Away in a Manger – Winter Wonderland – Santa Claus is Coming to Town – All I Want For Christmas Is You – Silent Night – Here Comes Santa Claus – O Christmas Tree – Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer – Jingle Bells – Frosty the Snowman – We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Bonus Tracks (remixes with additional vocals) – Here Comes Santa Claus – All I Want For Christmas Is You – Silent Night – Jingle Bells – We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

Baby Sing Christmas comes from a small independent record label run by a husband and wife team called  Music For Baby. They believe that music is a great way to help improve concentration, sleep, movement, memory, learning and emotional development from pre-natal to toddler and beyond.

I can see this being the musical backdrop to the opening of the presents on Christmas morning this year because it's lovely and festive but not headachey so it's perfect for starting off the day gently while everyone wakes up !
