Radox Calendula & Rose Moisture Soak & Eastern Spirit Bath Therapy review

You may have noticed or even entered my recent Radox giveaway (here - well done to @Jlnorris2010 @emmav6 and @gumbie23!) where I told you about some of the lovely, indulgent bath products that Radox have come up with that are perfect for Valentine's Day. Well, I was lucky enough to receive some to review too and this week has been perfect for testing them out, as a hot bubbly bath is just what the doctor ordered when the temperatures have dropped to minus silly.

I started off with the Calendula & Rose Moisture Soak. Radox explain : "Calendula and natural rose essence leaves a sweet, flowery fragrance that sets just the right mood for a relaxing bath and helps leave your skin soft and silky". This is a gorgeously girly bath treat, both in colour and fragrance, and filled the bathroom with a sweet floral fragrance that lingered on my skin afterwards. Since having the kids, I've got out of the habit of having baths, preferring a quick shower instead, but soaking in a tub of bubbles after a long day at work is incredibly soothing and relaxing. I sometimes find rose-scented products a bit overpowering but this was not too strong.

Now last weekend, I felt really rough, spending most of Saturday and Sunday feeling like I had the flu, with achey shoulders and legs, a stuffy head and shivers as soon as I ventured out from under the duvet. I decided this would be the perfect time to try out the Eastern Spirit Bath Therapy. The official blurb for this one says : "Inspired by Oriental traditions and including Lotus Flower and Orange Blossom, the Eastern Spirit allows you to sink into a blissful and aromatic bath." Sounds blissful. Off to find out if it lives up to the hype.

Well, my nose is so bunged up that I couldn't actually smell much at all, but Madhouse Daddy Mike gave me an appreciative sniff when he came to bed (!) and the girls oohed and aahed over the lovely smell in the bathroom and asked if they could use some of "mummy's special Japanese bubble bath" (they've obviously been looking at the picture on the bottle and drooling over it !). It makes a huge amount of bubbles so it felt really luxurious. What amazed me though was that despite not being able to smell it properly, the fragrance still seemed to have an effect on me as I felt revived, relaxed and just generally in a better mood after my bath.

They both seem really luxurious and high quality - they look and smell gorgeous, create a lovely amount of foam and leave you with soft, beautifully-fragranced skin - but they have a credit crunch friendly price tag too. Luxury and indulgence on a budget - can't say fairer than that !

  2. We love Radox, for personal reasons we had to remove our bath & put just a shower in, but when we go over to visit family & friends in the Newcastle area my hubby spends any free evenings in the bath -usually accompianed by loud snores!
But the radox is always the one thats packed & used. He loves the blue one ermm think its called Stress Relief & with five kids thats about what we need some days!
