Pillow Pets review

Just one look at Juliette's face shows how excited she was when we received a cute Snuggly Puppy Pillow Pet to review. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one - Sophie and Pierre both wanted it too ! - so much squabbling ensued until I instigated a Pillow Pets rota so they can all take turns and share it !

My initial reaction was slight bewilderment at how excited they were all getting about a cushion - after all the settee is covered in them already ! - but then I stroked it and realised how lovely and utterly soft it is. So soft in fact that you can't resist laying your head on it. Now aged 32 months, Pierre has decided he's too much of a big boy to still have naps, but I think this could be my secret weapon in managing to get him lying down for a rest when he needs one.

But it's more than just a pillow. When you fold it in half and use the velcro strip to fasten it, you get a cute puppy toy to stand on the end of your bed or cuddle. With this kind of product, it's always the little details that make all the difference and what I thought was really good here was the fact that they've thought about covering the scratchy Velcro with a protective soft covering.

The whole range of Pillow Pets currently available includes Billy Monkey, Playful Penguin, Comfy Panda, Snuggly Puppy, Magical Unicorn, Wiggly Pig, Ms Ladybug and Bumbly Bee. Also, especially for Easter, they have released Cuddly Bunny, Thumpy Bunny, Puffy Duck and Fluffy Bunny.

What's great is that they are machine washable - handy for anything the kids are going to be getting their sticky mitts on ! - but they can't be tumble dried, so I hope they stay just as soft and snuggly after they've been washed. Every single member of the Madhouse Family, from Pierre right up to the adults, automatically sticks the Snuggle Puppy under their head if they lie on the settee to watch TV because he's so irresitably soft !

  1. I could do with this kind of secret weapon...it's not so much nap time that I need it for but 4am when little one wakes up and doesn't want to go back to sleep!

  2. One of my little ones has been nagging and nagging for one of these! I have always been very reluctant but having read your review and seen the range, I am convinced and may well be fighting her for it!
