Penwizard Peppa Pig Personalised Storybook review

This September will be an exciting but scary time here at The Madhouse because not only Sophie will be starting secondary school but 3-year-old Pierre will be heading off to school for the first time too. He seems quite up for it, he's already used to going to the childminder's while I'm at work and his friend Augustin who is only a month older than him has been going all year already, but even so, I want to start getting him ready for what it will all entail.

When we were offered our choice of Penwizard's personalised Peppa Pig storybooks to review, I therefore chose "Peppa & Me : Pierre and Peppa go to school".

The full colour, glossy pages feature lots of highly appealing, detailed pictures that Pierre really enjoyed looking at - and that was before I sat down and read it to him and he realised that he featured in it !

Now, if you can't remember what Pierre looks like, here he is (having had his hair cut yesterday).

And here he is in the book. It's not a perfect match but it's not bad ! You get to choose sex, skin colour, hair colour and hair style and you also put in your child's name which pops up throughout the story, much to their utter delight !

Pierre loves the story and has sat down many times by himself "reading" it and shouting "look, it's Pierre" and pointing himself out in the pictures ! The fact that it's a softback book means it's light enough for him to hold on to easily. It's a lovely gift idea and takes literally seconds to personalise and order.

Other titles are available, including Peppa Comes To Your Child's Party, Your Child and Peppa Go To Playgroup and Peppa Pig Christmas Party. And if - shock horror ! - you don't like Peppa Pig, other characters are available including Noddy, Roary and Fifi.

Penwizard have kindly given me a code to share with you for free post and packaging on any of their personalised books. Just enter code 150920 at the checkout.

  2. It would never have occured to me that kids of that age would be so excited by featuring in a book. I think next Christmas's kiddie presents may be sorted!!
