Brio Racing Car review

A little while ago, Hello Baby contacted me to ask if I'd like to receive something for one of the Madhouse Mini-Testers to review. A few days later, the postman dropped off this Brio racing car, which was perfect for soon-to-be 3-year-old Pierre to test.

It's an incredibly simple toy so I was surprised to see how intrigued Pierre seemed to be, examining it from all angles and making the wheels turn round. He's got lots of other toy cars but they all have tiny wheels so maybe this is the first time he has really understood or been able to see how the wheels went round. I always thought that Brio made exclusively wooden toys so I was surprised to see that the racing car had plastic wheels.

It's a chunky, 13cm toy which is ideal for chubby little hands to grab hold of and push around. It doesn't have any small components so there's no risk of small children swallowing anything. No batteries required but lots of imagination instead - I loved watching Pierre push it across the floor (watched by Madhouse Daddy Mike !) making vroooom noises ! The metal loop at the back makes it easy to push round too.

It's quite pricey for what it is, but Pierre loved it and keeps coming back to play with it, which is surprising given how simple it is !

star rating : 4/5

RRP : £6.19

    1. Very true - it's like when they ignore the toy and play with the cardboard box !

  2. This looks like the sort of thing my nephew would love. A slight shame the wheels are plastic though.
