Calling all grannies ! Get baking with your grandkids and win !

Now, I love the sound of this competition because it means the kids get to do some baking but granny has to clear up the mess !! Seriously though, it sounds great fun and the prize is lovely so get your lucky mixing bowls out :)

A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION

Grannynet, the community-based website for grandmothers will celebrate its 5th birthday on August 31st and intends to party in style! We think everyone will agree that birthdays are a cause for celebration at any age but the birthday cake has to be the most important part of the festivities.

There’s something about a birthday cake which sticks in our minds, whether it’s one made lovingly for you when you were a child or the bright green iced football pitch or pink tutu you painstakingly made for your own children.

Of course nowadays you can buy or have a cake made professionally featuring anything from gardens and golfers to princesses and pirates. But we at Grannynet think it’s so much more fun to bake your own cake and even better to make one with your grandchild.

So Grannynet has teamed up with Peter Rabbit Organics to launch a competition to find a Granny who can make the best home made cake to mark Grannynet’s 5th birthday. The cake can be any shape, size or flavour, but don’t forget the candles!

Get those ingredients together, the mixing bowl out and have some fun!

Once your cake is baked and decorated, get someone to take a photo of it with you and your grandchildren and upload the photo onto our website http://www.grannynet.co.uk/5th-birthday-cake-competition between Monday 20th and Friday 31st August.

The lucky winner will receive a lovely hamper of Peter Rabbit Organics products and a selection of Peter Rabbit books to enjoy with their grandchild. And, of course, you get to enjoying eating the cake you made with your family.
