Build-A-Bear Workshop Pumpkin Pal Halloween Bear review

If you thought Halloween was all about scary monsters and creepy-crawlies that might end up giving your younger kids nightmares, think again and have a look at this totally adorable Halloween-themed bear from Build-A-Bear Workshop.

We received him ready stuffed but you may remember our fabulous trip to a Build-A-Bear Workshop in Brighton some time ago when the kids were totally delighted to learn about how every Build-A-Bear friend comes to life. They loved choosing the secret heart to put inside their cuddly toys, reciting the rhyme and believing in a little bit of Build-A-Bear magic !

This bear, called Pumpkin Pal, has been specially designed for Halloween, and has a fabulous pumpkin design all over his fur which makes him really unique. We all particularly love his pumpkin nose which - child of the 80's alert ! - reminds me of the Nosey Bears I used to love, who had special noses looking like mini snow-globes which did things when you squeezed their tummies !

One of the extra special things about Build-A-Bear is the ultra cute range of accessories that you can buy to jazz up your new friends. We all think Pumpkin Pal is adorable in his birthday (or should that be Halloween ?) suit, but he does look even cuter dressed up as a witch !

For the basic bear (without the witch outfit), I actually thought the price was very reasonable. £13.50 for a high quality, really soft, 40cm bear sounds like a bargain. If you buy it with the witch outfit, it will set you back £33, but you can buy cheaper witch outfits separately too.

If you want a Halloween treat that won't rot your kids teeth and won't give them nightmares, he's absolutely perfect.

star rating : 5/5

RRP : £13.50

  3. Awww - he looks so snuggly! Dexter hasn't discovered Build a Bear yet but given there's an outlet in the Oracle Reading (our town centre) - I doubt I can avoid it too much longer. Such a genius idea.

  6. We spent almost an hour in the Build a Bear shop on Saturday choosing an outfit for the boys bears... the eldest chose a Man Utd strip for his within minutes but the youngest (aged 4) went round every outfit - several time - before settling on a SpiderMan outfit! My 2 love Build-a-Bear and the staff are always so helpful... this one is cute xx
