VELCRO® #101Uses Challenge - #11 Toddler-proofing cupboards

Once your babies turn into toddlers and are on the move, getting into everywhere they're not supposed to go, you'll need to start toddler-proofing the house, adding stair gates, protecting sharp corners and fitting locks on doors and drawers containing anything potentially dangerous. The problem with some door safety mechanisms is that they're not just toddler-proof, they're pretty much impossible for the parents to open too !

If you wrap a couple of VELCRO® reusable ties around the door handles, they offer a fair amount of resistance - plenty to keep small fingers out - while being simple enough for parents to remove and put back on as required. (Please note, this shouldn't be used for really dangerous cupboards containing things like cleaning products or heavy objects as they're not specifically designed for this so they may not be 100% effective.)

Disclosure : I received a hamper of VELCRO® products in order to take part in the VELCRO® #101uses challenge.
