Could you sponsor a child in a developing country this Christmas?

Well, the presents have been opened, the mince pies munched and the crackers pulled, so that's Christmas pretty much done and dusted for another year then, right? Well, how about you put some of your Christmas money to a good cause this year and think about sponsoring a child in a developing country?

Plan UK have asked me to help spread the word about the benefits of child sponsorship and shared some little known facts. Did you know, for example, that :

For each child that is sponsored, another 55 children in the community will benefit

Last year, 96,087 letters were exchaged between children and their sponsors

At least 80 pence of your £1 donation is put directly back into development work

Have a look at the inforgraphic above for more information and click through to www.plan-uk.org if you'd like more information.

  1. I'm surprised by the boy/girl ratio in Africa - so few girls!
