Warner Brothers lovely Christmas/New Year package

Warner Brothers sent us through a lovely festive pack recently, containing chocolate Santas, candy canes and a gorgeous stocking, as well as two DVDs for us to watch. Oh and a Batman mask, but more about that in a moment !

The first film that we received is New Year's Eve. a film that we haven't seen yet and that I have put aside to watch on New Year's Eve because, if last year's telly is anything to go by, we'll all be half falling asleep waiting for Big Ben to chime otherwise ! (Oh, we know how to party here at The Madhouse !!) The (short but sweet!) synopsis says : "New Year's Eve celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts, with intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year." From what I've heard, it's a feel-good, festive, heart-warming movie with a great soundtrack that will be perfect for seeing in the new year.

The second movie is The Dark Night Rises, rated 12+ so perfect for a movie night for just me and Madhouse Daddy Mike when the kids are in bed. The storyline is as follows : "It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane." It's labelled "unmissable" on the front of the box so I can't wait to see what we think of it.

Thanks Warner Brothers for sending through some great teen/adult movies for us to enjoy when the kids are tucked up in bed dreaming of Santa !

  2. Our Christmas holiday did also feature the Dark Knight rises even though it's not my favourite sort of film, I didn't fall asleep though! I love the sound of New Year's Eve - will search that out and it's a must for me, your description sounds great. Jx
