Bigsby Story Buddy's new book review : Bigsby Gets A Pet Mouse

You may remember back at Christmas, I told you (here) all about Pierre discovering his new Story Buddy, Bigsby. If you're still not familiar with Story Buddies, they are cute soft toys who are specially created so that they react when you read certain sentences in the books that feature them and interact, saying things that join in with the story. There are a variety of books available for each Story Buddy and Bigsby's latest one has a rather lovely story behind it - it was written by 5 and 6-year-old pupils from Victoria Primary School in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The budding authors saw their story published after winning Hallmark’s National Literacy Competition, beating off competition from schools across the UK and Ireland.

The story, Bigsby Gets A Pet Mouse, is a lovely look at friendship - Bigsby learns that his new friend the mouse won't be happy if he is kept in a cage. Pierre loved the fact that we get to meet Bigsby's mum !

It's only a short story - about 200 words - and comes in a paperbook edition, unlike the normal Story Buddy books which are much longer and hardback, but it's still a lovely book to add to your Story Buddy collection, especially as 50%  of all proceeds from the book will go to Victoria Primary School and will be invested in improving the school’s future.
