Juliette's #ThatsMyHero entry

I love stepping inside a child's imagination for a moment and that was just what Tots 100/MoneySupermarket's latest competition allowed me to do. It encourages parents and grandparents to ask their children or grandchildren to draw their hero and explain why they love them so much. I asked 8-year-old Juliette if she fancied having a go and she scuttled off to her room clutching a piece of paper and a packet of felt tips.

I had no idea what to expect but it certainly wasn't this - a very brightly coloured "Olympics Super Cat Fairy" ! I asked her to explain a bit about her hero and was actually quite impressed to see how much she's picked up on (relatively) current events like the Olympics and Red Nose Day.

In Juliette's words : "She's a cat so she's got supersonic ears to hear what people are saying about her miles away and whiskers and can hiss at her enemies to scare them away. She's also got fairy wings so she can fly anywhere she needs to go quickly to rescue people or she can fly in the air out of the way if someone is trying to get her. Her magic wand can turn people into a mouse if they're nasty, then she can chase them into a mouse hole. She's got the Olympic torch to light the way and a red nose for Comic Relief so she can help get lots of money for people in Africa."

Awww, that's rather cute actually !

Disclosure : “This post is an entry into the Tots100 MoneySupermarket That’s My Hero competition“.
