Ready for a New (Springtime) Look !

We're halfway through February now so even if, when I look out of my window, I can currently see a sprinkling of snow, it's nice to know that the first warm sunny days can't be too far away (hopefully). My thoughts are now turning towards daffodils and tulips, blue skies and sunshine, trips to the park, barbecues and picnics. It's also made me realise that I need to update my spring and summer wardrobes, so when I was asked to create a wishlist for my new season's essentials from New Look, I was keen to see what they'd have on offer. Sophie absolutely loves New Look and I usually manage to find loads of things I like too while she's flicking through the racks, so I had no doubt I'd find just what I was looking for.

I've been spending all my time in boots for the last few months so the first place I looked was their shoe department. I love these bright pink peep-toe court shoes, even if I'm not sure how long I'd actually be able to walk in them for ! They'd look gorgeous teamed with a dress for any spring or summer weddings we get invited to and they only cost £17.99 so it wouldn't matter if they didn't get worn that often. (Because I'd know I'd be back in flats or trainers before the day was out !)

I always think springtime calls for floral prints so I absolutely loved this dress as soon as I laid eyes on it. I really like the colour, the rose print and the flattering cut - the high neck and mid length are apparently bang on trend right now. It costs £16.99 which sounds like great value to me once again.

Those in-between seasons (spring and autumn) can always be a bit unpredictable so it would be great to team the dress with a cardigan, just in case the sun disappeared behind a cloud, and I think this cream Cocoon Slub Cardigan would look perfect with it. It's £17.99 and is so versatile, going with everything from jeans and T-shirts to dresses, that it would be a great wardrobe addition.

Speaking of wardrobe basics, I did a double take when I saw the price of their basic Shoestring Vests - £2.99 ! You can't go far wrong with a price like that ! I was planning on replacing my stock of rather tatty vest tops for when we go to Morocco this summer so I think I need look no further ! They're available in white, khaki, mid pink and strawberry too.

One of the things that leapt out at me as I browsed through the website was this red zip-up hoodie. It looks so comfortable and snuggly, but also manages to look casual-smart enough that I could get away with wearing it to work, on the school run - just about everywhere really. The £16.99 price tag seems very reasonable to me.

Before closing their website, I couldn't resist having a look at their 60% off sale and they have some absolute bargains. A couple that caught my eye were this Paprika Blue Photographic Print Bodycon Dress (Now £8.00, Was £26.99) and these rather lovely Red Lace Pointed Courts (Now £8.00, Was £24.99). There are some really good offers so I suggest you get in there quick before they're all gone !
