Sunday weigh-in : Slight gain but could be worse

Well, this week I put on 400g. I'm not ecstatic - I've been pretty good this week so I was expecting a good result - but it could have been worse. Last week was Easter Sunday but the Easter bunny hadn't been when I did my weigh in. I've spent a week in a house filled with chocolate and only had a tiny nibble every now and then. The numbers on the scale could be down to a bit of water retention or a zillion other factors so I'm not going to worry about it. *Sniff*

Positives of the week

- I've started using FatSecret to log what I eat and keep track of the calories. My free WeightWatchers Online trial has come to an end so my weightloss chart from there needed replacing. I already used MyFitnessPal to track my weight for the badges (at the bottom of my weekly weigh-in posts) but didn't get on with their food diary option because it doesn't find half of the French things I eat in its database. I've signed up to the French FatSecret site which is quite interesting. They tell me I should be aiming for 1800 calories. This week, I was below my daily allowance for 5 days and slightly over for two days (102% and 105% so not too bad).

- I've started a weeklong trial of LunaLing Capri pants. They're made of a special material that basically heats up your legs and is supposed to increase the rate at which you burn calories, especially during exercise, increasing weight and inch loss. I'm totally sceptical but who knows?! It's no hardship wearing them, they're very comfortable, even if they do smell a bit odd !

- I've also started using the magic tape measure that came with the Kardy-o-fun fitness DVD. It comes with loads of clips for you to track your measurements so you should (hopefully) be able to actually see how many centimetres you're losing.

- I've stayed away from the chocolate ! I ate one Crunchie bar that a pupil gave me at school as a present (195 calories, could be worse !) and nibbled a few tiny fragments of the kids' eggs, despite having a bowl of cracked Easter egg within reach every time I went in the kitchen.

- We went to Quick (the French equivalent of McDonalds) and for some reason, I didn't feel like a salad which is what I usually have. I went for a burger and fries, didn't feel the slightest bit guilty and had soup for dinner. Zero deprivation and still under my daily calorie allowance ! :) I also baked a load of cakes for the kids and haven't eaten any of them. Thankyou SlimPod !

This week's target

Last week's target was : Get through another long week at work and hope for a small loss. Avoid the chocolate. Long walk on Bank Holiday Monday weather permitting. Didn't manage the small loss but did cram in loads of fresh veggies. Did avoid the chocolate. Too cold for a walk with the kids.

This week's target is :  Wear the magic capri pants every day ! Keep tracking calories to spot the hidden nasties (often at the canteen) and track inch loss for motivation. Try to get my badge back to "14kg lost" which is what it said last week. This is the last week at work before a fortnight off so I shall try to fit loads of exercise in with the kids from next week.

Longer-term targets : Wear my new jeans without a tummy bulge.

START WEIGHT : 91.9kg
TARGET WEIGHT : 66kg
WEIGHT LAST WEEK  : 78.4kg
WEIGHT TODAY : 78.8g
WEIGHT LOST SO FAR :  13.1kg
STILL TO GO : 12.8kg
CHANGE THIS WEEK : +400g

Feel free to add your weightloss posts to our weekly linkie - it's great to see how everyone else has been getting on and give each other support and encouragement :)

  1. Ooh I used to love a Quick when I lived in France! You'll have to let me know how you get on with the Kardy o fun dvd I quite fancied doing that one myself! I love the magic measure tapes, I still have my one although I'd like to be able to move the starting measurements - I know you're supposed to only have one starting measurement but mine's 5 years old and my starting measurements have changed several times since then lol! Good luck for this week, I'm sure you'll get that 400g back off again x
