Ruby Loves Kids' Crafting Magazine review

A few weeks ago, Sophie was very pleased to receive a new monthly crafts magazine through the post to review. Called Ruby Loves and targetting girls aged 8-12, it includes materials needed to make the items featured in the issue, as well as offering online content which is unlocked with a secret code, prizes and more.

Sophie instantly ripped open the bag and took out all the contents. She was very excited at the wide range of interesting looking bits and pieces and couldn't wait to see what they would end up being made into.

In the issue that we were reviewing (the first one), there were several projects that really appealed to her, so I think they've perfectly understood their target audience - although Juliette is 8 and she would have found many of them too difficult, unless I gave her a lot of help.

The first project that Sophie wanted to try was the Kitten Keyring. The instructions are clear and simple to follow, using lots of photos to show you how to do each stage.

Sophie didn't really need any input from me at all, although she did seek reassurance that she was doing it right from time to time.

Other projects in this issue include Star Cookie Pops, rings, a bag, bunting and cards so there is a nice mix of different projects. This would be a great buy for a wet weekend or a school holiday because it's packed with things to keep young crafts enthusiasts busy.
