Cadbury's Dairy Milk have a new limited edition available for the summer and they kindly sent us through a bar to try out. It draws on that iconic summery combination of strawberries and cream (or creme, as they put, presumably because it is made with yogurt rather than cream) and I can tell you that it is as utterly delicious as it sounds !
I was expecting a flavour similar to those strawberry fondant sweets that you get in Quality Street (or is it Roses?) and it is comparable, but less sickly sweet. The strawberry filling is light and airy and is perfectly complemented by the creamy milk chocolate.
It comes in a handy reclosable pack but we didn't actually get to try out this feature as it was split four ways and had completely disappeared within minutes ! A 3 square serving contains 85 calories, 7.8g of sugars and 5.3g of fat (of which 3g saturates) - but it is so moreish and delicious that you won't want to stop at just 3 squares unfortunately !
I was impressed by the low price tag too - a big 120g bar only costs £1. Don't hang about though - it is only available over the summer. I wonder if we could start a petition to make it a permanent fixture !
