ASDA Little Tikes toys review

Asda recently sent through a selection of preschool toys from Little Tikes for us to try out so Pierre happily stepped in as chief tester for the day. The exclusive range available at Asda has been specifically designed to keep children entertained whilst nurturing basic development skills. The complete collection consists of 86 unique and stimulating lines costing from just £1 to £30.

The first item that we discovered was this Soft Book, which is ideal as a first book (designed for children 6-12 months) because it has no sharp corners or paper pages to rip and can be screwed up, sucked, chewed and even taken in the bath without being damaged. Pierre loved looking at the brightly coloured pictures and the words written next to the images are great for sounding out letters with slightly older siblings. It comes with a handy ring to attach it to a pushchair or highchair straps too, which is always a Godsend when babies are at that stage where constantly throwing toys on the floor and watching mum pick them up again is a source of great amusement ! (RRP £5)

Pierre was very taken with the Pull & Shake Pal (RRP £4). When you pull it apart, it vibrates so Pierre loved holding it to his face and tummy to feel the shakes, or putting it quickly on a table and watching it jiggle. It again has a ring enabling you to attach it to a pushchair, car seat or high chair to help prevent it getting dropped and lost. It has very cute features, is nice and soft and has lots of different colours to look at. This again targets babies aged 6-12 months.

And the final product, designed for babies aged 3 months upwards, was the Bendy Puppy Rattle. Pierre decided that he wanted to give this one to a friend who is about to have a baby so we just looked at it inside the packaging. As well as offering great fun for little hands bending and shaking the long body, it has hard teething rings incorporated to offer relief for sore gums. (RRP £4)

I've just been looking at the rest of the collection on the ASDA website and there are plenty of other products available for slightly older kids too, all at very reasonable prices, so it's well worth a look.

star rating : 4.5/5

RRP : £4-5 for the products shown here

Disclosure : I received a selection of toys, in order to write an honest review.
