Shock Absorber Zipped Plunge Sports Bra review

Well, I'm back off holiday and determined to get back into losing weight (Jane at 7hippopotamus has thrown down the gauntlet and challenged us to lose a stone by Christmas - might as well aim high and think positive!) so I was really pleased to see that this year's school timetable (which I got today) gives me Wednesdays off, as well as two days where I finish at 2.30pm, giving me a good hour's me-time before heading off to pick up the kids at school. That should give me plenty of opportunity for getting to grips with my new zumba DVD - which has the added advantage of making me smile every time I look at the box because Pierre kept saying "zomba" and walking like a zombie every time he heard the call out for the morning zumba classes on holiday ! It was also perfect timing for receiving a Shock Absorber Sports Bra to review.

Now, I'm sorry, but I'm not posting a picture of me wearing it on my blog so you'll have to make do with the publicity shot ! I love the funky lime green trim and the flattering cut. It has a safety clasp and a zip at the front rather than a fastening at the back so you put it on like a waistcoat then do it up at the front. My initial thought was, it's way too small, I'll never manage to do it up, but I found that you have to do it up above your boobs then pull it down rather than try to zip it up in position ! Once in place, it is ultra comfortable and offers great support - I laughed when I saw that it was "bounce tested" but I can confirm that it does actually do what it promises. And yes, I did jump up and down in my bra to check - the things I do for my reviews !

The only very slight downside that I can find is that the straps are quite a long way over on your shoulders so it's not very discreet if you wear it under a T-shirt, on the way to the gym or just as a general day-to-day bra (which you will want to, as it's so comfortable), because the straps are visible (VERY visible, with the lime green trim !) at your neckline.

That's the only very slight negative that I could find though. It fits like a glove, offers great support and is supremely comfortable. It's really well thought out - there are no back clips so you won't have any fastenings painfully digging in your skin if you lie on your back for floor exercises - and the clever moisture-wicking material will help keep you dry when you get all sweaty !

It comes in sizes 32-38 B-DD (maybe they could do with adding a couple of bigger sizes as many people exercising will be trying to lose weight and will need larger sizes). If you're looking for a sports bra, or just a funky everyday bra, I highly recommend it.
