Whitworth's Sunny Raisins & Frootz review

When Whitworth's got in touch to see if we'd like to try out some of their new kids' ranges, we jumped at the chance. The Mini-testers love dried fruit and I love healthy snacks that they will enjoy just as much as sweets or biscuits so it looked like being a win-win situation. We weren't expecting to see such a wide range of flavours available so had great fun testing them all out.

First up was Yogurt Coated Raisins. We've had these before and love them. The yogurt coating tastes just like white chocolate - in fact, that's what the Madhouse Mini-testers thought it was.

Then we discovered the well-loved classic, Chocolate Covered Raisins. Very nice and very moreish. The creamy chocolate complements the chewy raisins perfectly.

Slightly more original and equally yummy were the Custard Coated Raisins. The Madhouse Mini-testers loved the fact that these ones were bigger than the others.

On to the first of the new varieties : Caramel Sunny Raisins. These are very nice too although, to be honest, tasted pretty much the same as the chocolate ones to us.

And the final bag of raisins, another new flavour : Milk & White Chocolate. The milk chocolate ones in the pack had bloomed, but we weren't going to let a little thing like that put us off and they tasted lovely ! If you can't make your mind up which flavour of raisins you want, this pack gives you the best of both worlds.

We also got some Frootz to try out, in banana and pineapple flavour. We reviewed the original four flavours of these (strawberry, raspberry, orange and lemon) back in 2011 - I can't believe how young the girls, in particular Juliette, look in that blogpost ! - and we still love them just as much. They're made with 80% fruit juice but taste just like Jelly Tots, although the Madhouse Mini-testers complained about both flavours being the same colour.

All of the Mini Testers loved all of the flavours, so they decided to mix them all up and go for a lucky dip in the big box !

The little lunchbox sized packs are ideal for snacks on the go and they're certainly a healthier option than the usual cakes, sweets or biscuits that the kids would usually ask for when they get home from school.
