  1. I am not married but was bridesmaid at my older brothers wedding. It was a lovely day - we (the bridesmaids) and the bride travelled by horse and cart to the church - stopping half way for one of the horses to drop it's load!

  4. a few years ago we went to a wedding where instead of getting a photographer one of their friends filmed the whole thing. In the evening the groom wanted to see what the film of the ceremony came out like, so he rewound the camcorder (this was back in the '80's) ready to look through the footage when he got distracted and put the camcorder down and forgot about it. The friend who was filming it picked the camera up and carried on filming therefore he went over all of the recording of the day, all they ended up with was the last hour of the evening reception.

  26. At a wedding which I attended:- The bride's dog attended to present her with a horse-shoe (a decorative shop bought token for good luck) for good luck. There were photos taken at the time. Those of us attending had been told the groom had arranged for the dog to be included / involved on the wedding day. As the dog was considered as part of the family, he behaved perfectly. We were all delighted that he had been involved and we got the brief chance to greet their beloved dog.

  72. My wedding day was the best day of my life, everything went perfectly and we have some wonderful memories! We had 3 'first dances' as we have 3 special songs. Our first 'first' dance was to a song that was extremely special to us, but at least 98% of the guests had never heard it before, and as we danced on the dance floor, sneaking the odd glance at the massive crowd watching us, the look of sheer confusion on their faces was priceless!

  78. The reception was held at my mum's home, in a shared terrace area,so we naturally invited the neighbours to come and have a drink with us. When we got back from the ceremony one neighbour was already there, and he managed to be at the head of the buffet queue, he got himself in all the photographs, he drank so much that he was totally drunk, lolling in his chair and flirting with all the lady guests, and he was the last to leave - we practically had to carry him home. To add insult to injury, I had never even met him before that day!
