Cadbury Choc Full Of ... Pretzels review

Here at The Madhouse, we like pretzels and we love chocolate but nevertheless, we were slightly unsure when Cadbury sent us through some of their Choc Full Of ... Pretzels to try out. As the name suggests, you get chocolate full of pretzels or, in other words, whole pretzels covered in milk chocolate.

They're quite small - a few centimetres across - so you get a generous quantity in the bag and I was very pleased to see that there were hardly any broken ones at all. On to the all important taste testing. Well, the pretzels are very crisp and crunchy but they weren't as salty as regular pretzels (which are often studded with salt crystals on the outside). The milk chocolate coating wasn't very thick but this is probably done on purpose because it means that the two contrasting flavours were perfectly balanced with neither the pretzel or chocolate overpowering the other.

They're very nice but tasted a bit like chocolate digestives after a while for some reason ! As a salted caramel lover, I would have liked more of a salty hit, as you get with regular pretzels, to really contrast with the sweet chocolate.

They're not bad at all though and the kids loved them, especially as they think they look like smiley faces. They also enjoyed nibbling bits off to make them into numbers - 6, 9, 3 and 8 were easy but they had to get a bit more creative for the others. Chocolate pretzel maths - now that sounds like it would be a great hit in the classroom !
