Cadbury Festive Chocolates review

When I was growing up, I always used to get a Cadbury's Selection Box in my stocking (or next to it, if it was too big to fit inside) and it's a tradition that I've tended to keep going with the Madhouse Mini-testers. Cadbury's recently sent us through a variety of products from their festive range and have shown that they have a whole lot more to offer than selection boxes.

Inspired by the recent trend for retro Christmas jumpers, the Cadbury festive collection comes playfully wrapped in a beautiful Christmas Knit pattern, as you can see on the advent calendar box. (RRP £2.19) This woolly jumper design has also been carried through to the classic Dairy Milk bars over the winter months.

The first new addition to the range that really caught our eye was the magical Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland bar. It's a limited-edition bar that is cleverly made up of interlocking white chocolate and milk chocolate Christmas tree-shaped chunks that totally wowed us because we couldn't work out how a machine would manage to create this. (The white chocolate is a layer on top of milk chocolate.) Juliette pointed out that maybe they do have Oompaloompas doing it all by hand like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ! RRP £1.49 for 100g.

The other products are the perfect size for being stuffed into Christmas stockings. The new Freddo bars had us all excited as soon as we saw the words Popping Candy. The bars come in four different limited edition Christmas sleeves and as they're only 20p each, you could buy one of each and still not break your Christmas stocking budget !

The Cadbury Little Wishes are also very cute. Pierre instantly renamed them Dora Stars because he thinks they look like the stars out of Dora the Explorer ! The bags contains a mixture of pure Cadbury chocolate stars and truffle-filled stars and if that's not already a good enough reason for eating them, Cadbury donates 10% of all profits made from Little Wishes to the Make A Wish Foundation. RRP £2.13 for 128g.

I think Santa may have to stock up on double rations because some of these may well get munched before they make it into the stockings !
