Madhouse Recipe : Christmas Pasties #christmascondiments

In a couple of days, I bet this is what the inside of your fridge looks like ! Inspired by the #Christmascondiments hamper, I came up with a fab way of recycling the leftovers from Christmas dinner.

Cut a sheet of readymade puff pastry in four and spread with cranberry sauce.

Chop up the leftover turkey and some of the vegetables, sprinkle over some garlic salt and black pepper then add some instant gravy. (Not too much so it's runny, just enough for it not to be dry.)

Place two heaped tablespoons of turkey mixture on each piece of puff pastry.

Fold over and crimp the edges to seal. Brush with a lightly beaten egg yolk. ( I'm always amazed by just how yellow the egg yolks are in the freshly laid eggs that Madhouse Daddy gets from one of his work colleagues !) Bake in a preheated oven at 180° for 25 minutes until the pastry is cooked and golden.

Reheat the remaining potatoes and cooked vegetables in the microwave. Roughly crush with a masher - don't aim for smooth mash, you want it to stay lumpy with recognisable pieces of potato, carrot and parsnip.

When piping hot, add a knob of butter and a squeeze of Mayonnaise with a Hint of Black Pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined. Season with garlic salt.

Serve a pasty with a dollop of mash. It's delicious and it will clear your fridge out in no time !

Disclosure : I received a parcel of #Christmascondiments in order to take part in the Unilever Kitchen challenge.
