Madhouse diaries : Chilling at the park

Yesterday, for the first time in absolutely ages, it was a lovely sunny day so we headed out for some fresh air. Very fresh actually - despite the sunshine, it was incredibly cold so we were chilling in more ways than one !

The ducks and geese didn't seem to mind though.

I was convinced Pierre's glove was going to fly off with the bread but it managed to stay attached to his coat - phew, I wouldn't have fancied wading into the icy cold water to get it back !

Time to get the wheels out - Pierre was on his trusy Microscooter.

Whereas Juliette had opted for roller skates.

We played on the playground for a while.

But didn't stay long because the metal bars were so cold they made our hands hurt !

Definitely not Juliette's greatest idea - good job there were no health and saftety experts around !

Pierre investigated the molehills to see if he could see one peeking out !

The main attraction, as always, was the grown-up sports equipment though.

Seeing how excited the kids got about playing on it made me smile - when does sport stop being fun and start being a chore?!

I might have had a bit of a play myself but there are no photos to prove it !

After a bit of posing ...

And some very energetic swinging, we decided it was time to go home.

Erm Sophie, I think you might be ever so slightly too big for that seesaw !

  2. What a great park, something for all age ranges (even Mums and Dads). It looks like they all enjoyed their chilly fun and it's a great idea to take the scooter and blades - I'm sure that helped to keep them warm. Thanks for linking up and sharing your outdoor fun with Country Kids.
