The big day is finally here ! The Very Hungry Caterpillar is 45 years young today ! It’s a day where all caterpillars will not only be celebrating the anniversary but also the start of Spring too!

We've been loving sharing reviews of many of the lovely Very Hungry Caterpillar products on offer over the past six months and I'll have a special final anniversary celebration blogpost coming up at the weekend.   3. My son is 30 and my sister bought him The Very Hungry Caterpillar for his 1st Christmas, then it was used for my daughter. Recently I bought pyjamas, game and another lunch boxfor my grandson- and so the legend goes on, stronger than ever.

  125. I first came across The Very Hungry Caterpillar when I helped in a reception class in a school about ten years ago. The children loved the story and were fascinated by the life cycle of a butterfly. It was easy and fun for the children to copy pictures using paint and collage to make bright, attractive wall displays.

    My husband reckons that he taught his younger brother to read using this book when he was a child, he has very fond memories of it!
