Crushed Fast Fruit Snack review

Crushed recently sent us through some of their "fast fruit snacks" to try out, as well as some funky fruity stickers that the Madhouse Mini-testers had great fun sticking everywhere !

The pouches - very similar to the toddler-oriented fruit pouches from brands such as Plum and Ella's Kitchen but targetting an older market - are just like the "compotes" that you can buy everywhere in France and other European countries. For most French mums I know, these are the universal go-to option for out-and-about snacks, packed lunches or in-car foodie treats because they are mess free but also require no spoons/serviettes/wipes. I've no doubt they'll take the UK by storm too because they really are the height of convenience, as well as being good for you - as a recent status on their Facebook page said, they are "all fruit, no fat, no gluten, no mess, no spoon, no added sugar and more than 1 of your 5 a day." Oh, and they taste great too !

4-year-old Pierre is already a huge fan of the French version so I knew he'd love them.

But even tweens, teens and adults can enjoy them too. (This is Sophie's "don't you dare put this on my Facebook profile" face !) They're great for keeping in your handbag or the glovebox of the car for emergencies because they can generally stave off whining of both the "I'm hungry" and "I'm thirsty" variety !

They are currently available in two flavours - apple & strawberry and apple & banana - with more choices on the way. They contain no hidden nasties - there's nothing but fruit puree and concentrated fruit juice on the ingredients list. Each 100g pouch contains 57 calories for apple & strawberry and 68 calories for apple & banana.

  2. Just tried my first Crushed snacks and loved them - in fact I had one of each! I can see these could be very handy in my bottom drawer at work when the old banana is looking less than apertising (why did I forget I had left it there???)
