Surf Tropical Lily and Ylang Ylang review

Surf is one of those brands that I remember my nan using - back in the day, it only came in powder form and there was only one fragrance available. It's certainly come on a long way since then and I was suitably wowed when they sent me through a bottle of Surf Tropical Lily and Ylang Ylang to try out.

Its fragrance is as exquisite and wonderfully exotic as it sounds and it also managed to get the washing nice and clean, as well as smelling lovely. I love these sorts of luxurious and unusual fragrances for laundry products because it puts a smile on my face when I tackle our "Mount Washmore" and turns the twice weekly wash into a moment of pleasure rather than just a chore.

Surf probably wouldn't be surprised to hear me say that because they have carried out new research which shows that it's the little things in life that put a spring in the nation's step. Four million of us agree that bubbles raise a smile, with rainbows (48%), open green space (33%) and wearing fresh clothes (13%) also being listed as the little things which make a difference to the day.

To tie in with this research, Surf decided to transform Sam Faiers from reality star into "soap star", creating a dress made entirely from bubbles - definitely not one to wear on a windy day ! It perfectly matches Sam's "bubbly" personality though !

The Surf Bubble Dress was made from thousands of foam bubbles and was designed by celebrity fashion house Studio XO in their fashion laboratory. The dress was three weeks in back-to-back development and Sam was really pleased with the final design. She explains : “The Surf Bubble Dress is such fun to wear and I loved being on the shoot – it was certainly a unique experience, with three women placing tiny bubbles directly onto my skin to create the final, fabulous effect!”

Bubbles are great for putting a smile on your face but Surf have an even better way of putting a spring in your step. 1. Sounds good! Never think of buying Surf (memories of those horrible boxes of powdered surf!) but I shall be lurking in the surpermarket aisles sniffing the bottles and will definitely give it a try!
