Amy's Kitchen Vegetable Lasagne review

I recently shared my review of Amy's Kitchen's Broccoli & Cheddar Bake and today we tried another of the recipes from the gluten-free range : Vegetable Lasagne. As well as being gluten-free, the packaging promises that it is all natural and that the vegetables and grains are grown without pesticides.

Here it is straight out of the freezer.

And here it is once it's been cooked. It needs 5 minutes in the microwave or a whopping 60-65 minutes in the oven at 190°. My first impression was that it could have done with a bit more grated cheese on top.

It's slightly dry - it has less cheese sauce than my home-made lasagne - but it's actually very tasty. It's a mixture of spinach, courgettes, carrots and tomato sauce layered between rice pasta with mozzarella and Italian-style hard cheese, cottage cheese and ricotta. It's well seasoned - I thought I could taste pesto but looking at the ingredients list, it's basil.

It's very convenient because you can cook it from frozen so it's ideal when you need a fuss-free meal for one. The fact that it is gluten-free also makes it perfect if you need a separate individual meal for someone who os Coeliac and don't know where to start when cooking from scratch.

Each pack contains 330 calories, 6g of sugar, 14g of fat (of which 7g saturates) and 2g of salt.
