Nomadic Mango Lassi review

When Nomadic got in touch to ask if we'd like to try out their new Mango Lassi drink, I mentioned it to the Madhouse Mini-testers and couldn't help but laugh at their wide-eyed reply : "Lassi? Isn't that a dog on TV who always has adventures?"

Well, if you've never heard of lassi either, rest assured - it has nothing to do with clever collies ! As Wikipedia explains : "Lassi is a popular, traditional, yogurt-based drink from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water, spices and sometimes, fruit. Traditional lassi (a.k.a., "salted lassi", or simply, "lassi") is a savoury drink, sometimes flavoured with ground and roasted cumin. Sweet lassi, however, contains sugar or fruits, instead of spices."

Nomadic's mango lassi is a smooth and creamy yogurt based drink, made with low-fat yogurt and Alphonso mango puree. It's sweet and fruity and is very thick and filling. Each bottle contains 330ml and 100ml provides 79 calories, 1.5g of fat (of which 0.9g saturated) and 13.6g of carbs (of which 13.2g sugars). As it's halfway between a drink and a snack, that's not too bad. I love drinking it for breakfast, but the kids also love it when they get home from school.
