Looking for a cheeky grown-up Secret Santa gift or stocking filler ?!

I have to admit, I had a good laugh when an email plopped into my inbox about the Nookie Wedge. My first thought was, that sounds a bit rude, then I read on and realised it was !

It's basically a wedge that you use to keep your door shut from the inside to stop your kids bursting in at an inopportune moment - I'm sure you get the picture ! It was produced by a husband and wife team for their own use who decided to turn it into a business venture when they saw how popular it was with their friends.

I had another chuckle reading the FAQ section on the Nookie Wedge website :

I’ve got a lock on my door, why do I need a nookie wedge?

You don’t, you lucky so-and-so, you are one of the special ones. But, don’t forget the nookie wedge is portable so you can use it in the kitchen, living room or away from home if you like.

Also, spare a thought for your friends who may not be as fortunate. While you swing from the chandeliers with gay abandon and your door securely locked, think of them, quaking beneath the covers like Gollum, afraid of the light at the crack of the door. Nookie wedges make great gifts too you know. Set them free……..

Why can’t I just use a regular wedge or get a lock?

You can, but where’s the fun in that? This wedge is pink rubber and says nookie on it!.. It acts as a statement of intent. Oh! and you get a lovely velvet bag to hide it discreetly away between uses and an early-warning bell to hang on your door handle and alert you to any attempted incursions. It’s also much sexier than a grey plastic wedge borrowed from the office.

So there you have it - it's fun, it's a little bit silly and it would make a fab Christmas gift for any parents you know with a sense of humour (or maybe even your other half) !

They currently have a competition running where you can win a very cheeky prize for spicing things up in the bedroom - even if you don't fancy entering, it's worth heading over to read the entries because people are asked to share their most excrutiating stories of getting caught in the act! (If you want to enter but are too shy, you can do it anonymously !)

The Nookie Wedge retails at £12.99 but over the Christmas period, it's on sale at 20% off for £9.99
