My (Dream) Wall Stickers (especially if you're a 1D fan !) (review)

When My Wall Stickers got in touch to see if we'd like to review one of their decorative vinyl wall stickers, I went to have a look to see what they had on offer. They said that I could choose anything up to a value of £30 but I didn't really know what I was looking for so I just went browsing with nothing particular in mind. I couldn't believe it when I came across this one - it had Sophie's name written all over it!

For the last few years, Sophie's quarters have been in the renovated loft. She has a bedroom, a bathroom and a landing which is used as storage but that we've never done anything with. Her bedroom has been totally One Direction-ified and, now that she no longer has a spare square centimetre of wall space in there, her posters are spilling over into the no man's land between the bedroom and bathroom !

The One Direction wall sticker is the first stage in the redesign so she has been really keen to get it up on the wall. It's a two-person job though, so she had to wait until we had a spare moment in our busy schedule to sort it out. She managed to rope in Madhouse Daddy this week to help her get it up on the wall !

The sticker has three layers - backing paper, the sticker itself and an adhesive top sheet. As this is a big sticker, you need to position it on the wall with masking tape (or we used drawing pins) before you start peeling off the backing paper underneath bit by bit.

The enclosed scraper tool (make sure you don't throw it away, it's taped on to the outside of the tube that the sticker comes in) is used to scrape across the top sheet before carefully peeling it off.

You need to go slowly and carefully, rubbing over any sections that haven't stuck to the wall properly, but it all went without a glitch. (I think Sophie was holding her breath !)

Even without being a One Direction fan, I had to admit it looked great. We went for classic black but it (like most of the stickers) is available in a vast range of colours, from pink and orange to blue and green.

As you can see, Sophie loves it ! I get the feeling that the next time I go up her stairs, there will be a dozen more One Direction posters on the wall !

According to the website, the wall stickers are manufactured using a premium vinyl that lasts up to 10 years indoors. They can be removed with ease during their life time leaving no marks or glue behind on your wall but once removed they cannot be re-used.

The One Direction sticker costs £22.99 for the large one we had (50cm x 140cm) or £18.99 for the smaller size (30cm x 90cm).
