Madhouse Diaries : Santa Magic By Night

You may remember earlier in the week, I showed you the huge Santa model in the town centre and said that it would look great at night because it is made of LED lights. Well, yesterday, we checked it out in the dark and it does look pretty spectacular.

But that wasn't the main attraction. There was a "mapping" show planned where images are projected onto to a building, in this case the big St Eloi church.

Ooh look, it's snowing on the building !

The video pictures told the tale of a teddy bear (one of the ones we saw in the Enchanted Village display in the town square) who was following a shooting star to find Santa Claus.

The grown ups had noticed during the day (but probably not the kids) that there were two ropes strung up between the church and the clock tower opposite so, at the key moment of the story, a spotlight came on and something (or someone) red could be seen shimmying across the ropes.

Wow, it's a very acrobatic Santa !

As he landed on the church and abseiled down the final part, he'd picked up the real life teddy from the story.

It was great seeing the looks of wonder on the kids' faces and hearing them gasp as Father Christmas magically appeared !

He gave out cakes and sweets to the kids afterwards but we couldn't stay because we had a surprise 50th birthday to dash off to !
