Mrs Crimble's Belgian Chocolate Coconut Stars review

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the naughty nibbles and Mrs Crimble's have come up with a fabulous festive offering - their Belgian Chocolate Coconut Stars.

We've tried their full-sized coconut macaroons before so we knew they were very nice but these mini macaroons have been slathered in Belgian chocolate, making them even more indulgent.

I don't know how they manage to avoid the trap that many macaroon-makers fall into but Mrs Crimble's macaroons are lovely and juicy and not at all dry. The cool coconut centre is perfectly offset by the rich chocolate on the outside and one bite-sized piece is just big enough to enjoy as an after dinner treat when you're really not hungry any more but fancy a little treat all the same !

They're gluten-free (and also wheat, peanut and nut free) but even if you don't need a free-from diet, they're still utterly delicious and well worth buying. Each star contains 103 calories, 6g of fat (of which 5g saturated) and 10g of sugar.

star rating : 4.5/5

RRP : £3.49 for a box of 12
