What's Cooking at The Madhouse? menu plan 2/1/14


The first menu plan of 2015 ! Back to school and back to routine after a fortnight visiting family over Christmas.

Saturday

lunch - poutine (a Quebec dish from my Canadian Kitchen Trotter box- basically chips with mozzarella and gravy - that was on my last menu plan before Christmas but never got made), chicken fillet and salad

dinner - Mexican black bean soup

Sunday

lunch - roast chicken or pork, roast potatoes, veg and gravy

dinner - leftover soup or porridge

Monday

dinner - baked potato with veggie sausages and beans

Tuesday

dinner - stir-fried chicken, veggies and noodles drizzled with chilli/ginger/honey sauce

Wednesday

lunch - beefburger, baked tomatoes and pasta and broccoli bake

dinner - grilled salmon, rice and salad

Thursday

dinner - pork chops with pan-fried apples and pears, mash, peas and carrots

Friday

dinner - chicken pesto pasta with olives and cherry tomatoes

    1. I like giving tweaks to simple meals to keep things interesting - and sneak some more fruit and veg into our diet ! :)

    2. I was underwhelmed when I had poutine in New York last year. I was excited about it because erm, chips, gravy and cheesy goodness but it didn't live up to my expectations! Great plan, thanks for joining in.
