Giveaway #462 : Win 3 x Fairytale: A True Story DVDs - closed - winners Maya Russell, Kim Neville & Sandra Clarke

The infamous story of the Cottingley fairies and the media circus it inspired is brought vividly to life in charming fantasy drama FAIRYTALE: A TRUE STORY, coming to DVD for the first time on March 23rd 2015, courtesy of Icon Film Distribution.

Loosely based on real events, FAIRYTALE: A TRUE STORY recounts the sensation caused across England in 1917, after young cousins Elsie  and Frances take photographs of fairies they claim to have discovered in a nearby meadow. Capturing the imagination of the public, the girls are quickly catapulted to celebrity, garnering support from famous author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and sceptical interest from magician Harry Houdini.

As the story of the fairies gathers momentum, the photos appear in national newspapers and the girls face a barrage of scrutiny, with their supporters refusing to concede against the hordes of cynics, determined to debunk their claims.

Directed by Charles Sturridge  and featuring a star-studded British cast that includes Paul McGann, Harvey Keitel, Peter O'Toole, Anna Chancellor and Bill Nighy, FAIRYTALE: A TRUE STORY is the perfect family film- heart-warming, inspiring, and guaranteed to make you believe in magic...

It's a lovely feel-good family movie and was also a nostalgic trip down memory lane for me because I remember my nan telling me about the story when I was growing up and the innumerable sunny afternoons I'd spend loitering at the bottom of the garden hoping for a glimpse of fairies flitting in and out of the peonies !
