Cut the calories with Warburtons Bagel Thins ! (review)

Warburtons recently sent us a hamper of their brand new Bagel Thins to try out - they look and taste exactly the same as regular bagels but, as the name suggests, they're thinner so they only contain 120-130 calories (depending on the variety). We love bagels here at The Madhouse and the kids found the Bagel Thins to be a more manageable size than the regular ones. They're chewy and filling, don't fall apart or go soggy if you put them in your lunchbox, can be used with a variety of hot and cold fillings and we all loved the delicious extras like seeds and dried fruit in them.

They take a basic ham and salad sandwich to a new level and taste lovely straight from the pack or lightly toasted. Warburtons have already sliced them in half which is really convenient.

I decided to use them as burger buns too which worked really well. In fact, the kids loved them so much that we've had them with beefburgers, chicken burgers and veggie burgers over the past few weeks. Should these be called Baglers or Burgels ?!

You can even make a fabulous Loch Ness Bagel-monster which makes the kids squeal with delight. (I once made a really long one as the centrepiece for a kids' party which went down well too.)

The Bagel Thins are available in three varieties - plain, sesame and cinnamon & raisin - from ASDA, Morrisons and Sainsbury's, with Tesco, Iceland and The Cooperative following soon.

RRP : £1.40 for 6
