Lily O' Briens Desserts Collection review

When the lovely people at Lily O' Brien's got in touch and asked if we'd like to try some of their chocolates, I didn't hesitate for a second. We've already tried (and reviewed) their Christmas Chocolates and their Cocoa Cookie Crunch so we had high expectations but they stepped up to the mark once again.

The box contains 18 chocolates - 3 each of the six different dessert-themed creations. They look very pretty and the box promises "a collection of the world's best-loved dessert recipes in scrumptious mouthfuls of chocolate deliciousness". Yep, I'd say that just about covers it !

The only tough part is deciding which one to taste first ! You get to choose between : Hazelnut Torte, Passion Fruit Posset, Banoffee Pie, Crème Brûlée, Raspberry Infusion and Key Limey Pie.

Key Limey Pie (zesty lemon curd topped with soft lime infused truffle, smothered in dark chocolate and topped with a tiny drizzle of white chocolate) ended up being my favourite, so I wasn't surprised to see it has won two Great Taste Awards.

They are all delicious though, with the perfect balance of flavours. They're sweet without being sickly, but after two or three, you know it's time to stop, which is good news for the waistline. I absolutely loved the fact that there were no coffee ones in the box too - I usually always have to avoid a couple of flavours so I was delighted to be able to dip in without worrying about getting one I wouldn't like !

Lily O' Brien's proudly announce on their packaging that they are "passionate about chocolate". If you want a really special, decadent and original box of chocolates with wow-factor to give to a special someone, look no further !

Even better news if you like a bargain, they're currently on offer so you can pick up two boxes for £13.20, making them really good value too. Lily O' Brien's have also created an offer code for you for 20% off - just enter MHFR20 at the checkout - and you also get free delivery over £30.
