Schleich DC Comics Figurines review

Having Pierre after two girls has been a revelation. While he is quite happy to run around in a tutu or fairy wings that he has picked up in his sisters' rooms, he seems to be much more oriented towards playing with cars, trucks, footballs and other playthings traditionally labelled "boys' toys" that the girls were never overly bothered about, despite having access to them. One of his big passions is superheroes - he can't get enough of Superman and Spiderman in particular - so I knew that these Schleich Justice League figurines would get a warm reception.

We received the  Superman vs Darkseid pack, but there is also a Batman vs The Joker set available, as well as individual figures. Darkseid comes from an alien planet called Apokolips and he and Superman are bitter enemies.

These are the sorts of collector toys that will be worth a fortune in years to come if you keep them in the box, unopened, in pristine condition. Pierre wasn't concerned with their future value though - he just wanted to get them out and play with them. As did Madhouse Grandad !

The fact that you get a hero and a villain in the box opens up all sorts of roleplay possibilities. They are sturdily built and put up with some fairly vigorous rough-and-tumble play with no damage whatsoever.

They are suitable for children aged 3+ but are sure to appeal to all superhero fans, whatever their age. Whether you want to play with them or put them on a shelf to look at, they're nicely made with great attention to detail. They're not articulated but this didn't stop Pierre having great fun making up and acting out stories with them.
