Picture book review : Hedgehugs board books

There's no stopping Maverick Books lately ! After branching out into Early Readers - simplified versions of their exisiting titles - this summer, they have added another string to their bow by adding a selection of lovely board books to their titles. They have started with the beautiful and charming Hedgehugs stories.

You may remember that we reviewed the original Hedgehugs books a while ago and we were delighted by both Hedgehugs and Hedgehugs : Horace and Hattiepillar. In the first book, best friends Horace and Hattie have to find a way of hugging without being prickled and in Horace and Hattiepillar, they help a caterpillar grow up into a butterfly and decide to try to do the same.

The books have been edited so that the stories are shorter and the illustrations simpler, making them perfect for the littlest book lovers. The books have managed to retain the aww-factor of the originals though and it's fabulous to be able to introduce such lovely, feel-good stories to a whole new audience.

The pages have been gloss laminated so that they can be wiped clean. If you're on the hunt for stocking fillers for youngsters, look no further !
